Dr Brace and his team at Guelph Facial Plastics are involved in many ongoing humanitarian efforts, from providing life-changing reconstructive surgeries abroad to supporting critical healthcare initiatives at home.

Beauty for Hope
Breast cancer remains one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers among women in Canada, touching countless individuals, families and communities each year. An estimated 1 in 8 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, making continued access to screening, treatment and compassionate cancer care incredibly important.
In 2020, Dr. Matthew Brace opened the doors of Guelph Facial Plastics for a special clinic day called Dysport to Show Support, providing cosmetic neuromodulator treatments with 100% of the proceeds donated to support breast cancer care at Grand River Hospital. That first event raised $3,000 and planted the seed for what would eventually become Beauty for Hope.
Since then, Beauty for Hope has continued to grow, bringing together our patients, local businesses and members of the community around one shared goal: supporting breast cancer care close to home.
In 2024, Beauty for Hope raised an incredible $18,685.80. We are so grateful for the continued support and generosity that has allowed this initiative to grow year after year.
Beauty for Hope is back for October 2026!
This year, we are incredibly proud to continue Beauty for Hope in support of the Waterloo Wellington Breast Centre at Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN).
Throughout the month of October, Guelph Facial Plastics will donate 50% of proceeds from Dysport treatments to Beauty for Hope. We’re also grateful to have support from businesses and organizations throughout our community who are finding their own ways to contribute to this year’s campaign.
Our goal is simple: to raise awareness, inspire generosity and help support exceptional breast cancer care for patients and families right here in our community.
Beauty for Hope runs October 1–31, 2026, and there are so many ways to get involved. Book a participating treatment, make a donation, share the campaign or simply help us spread the word.

Dr. Brace's Mission To Ukraine
In 2023, Dr. Brace was approached by founder Peter Adamson of Face The Future Foundation to be a part of a mission helping the victims of war-torn Ukraine. Face The Future Foundation is a humanitarian group that has delivered life-saving and life changing plastic reconstructive surgery to those in need since 1996. Dr. Brace graciously accepted the invitation, to deliver reconstructive surgery to both soldiers and civilians seriously injured by the war. This life-changing experience is one that both Dr. Brace and those he treated will never forget. Read the full story here:
Guelph Plastic Surgeon Helps Sustain Hope for Ukranians Maimed by War
In 2024, Dr. Brace returned to Ukraine for a second mission where the team performed 95 surgical procedures on 33 patients in 4 days.
In addition to these complex facial reconstruction surgeries to restore facial appearance, function and balance, Dr. Brace was also able to teach an advanced suture course for the local surgeons.
